Eli’s Cheesecake: A Chicago Staple
Chicago is famous for some of the nation’s best food: deep dish pizza, Italian beef, hot dogs. Being a Chicagoan myself, I’m ready to add cheesecake to that list. I first started following Eli’s Cheesecake a few years ago to support local Chicago business. And now, I continue to enjoy Eli’s Cheesecake based on their amazing quality. Eli’s Cheesecake is truly the best cheesecake in Chicago.
Being 5 months pregnant, I was so excited to see this box of cheesecake goodness on my doorstep and more than happy to dig in.
To give you a little background on Eli’s Cheesecake, they got their start about 30 years ago by developing a signature dessert for their local steakhouse “Eli’s the Place for Steak”. Word spread quickly and they have since become known all over for their delicious tasting cheesecake. While their corporate office and primary bakery is based in Chicago, they sell their desserts at various locations across the company. You can also order directly from their website.
Now on to the taste…
The cheesecake I recently enjoyed was their “Original Favorites Sampler“, which consisted of four different flavors: original plain, chocolate chip, strawberry, and Heath® candy bar. They also offer other flavors like salted caramel with almonds, turtle, hot chocolate, key lime, and apple streusel.
One of the things I love most about their cheesecakes is that they come pre-cut, which makes it easy to serve and fun to mix and match flavors. It’s also great for portion control if you can resist coming back for seconds (or thirds). Being 5 months pregnant, I was so excited to see this box of cheesecake goodness on my doorstep and more than happy to dig in.
My favorite was the strawberry. All flavors were thick and incredibly creamy, but I loved the slight tart taste of the strawberry combined with the rich cheesecake. It’s also apparent in the taste that they use high quality ingredients. My cheesecake was shipped on dry ice to ensure it was delivered cold and fresh.
Eli’s has become pretty iconic to us Chicagoans. I highly recommend it for any cheesecake lovers out there! It will quickly become your favorite Chicago cheesecake.
